Black Death/ Bubonic Plague This pandemic spread from Asia to Europe and Africa following trade routes and decreasing the populations in all these regions
Ottoman Empire This Islamic Empire used cannons to take control of important trade routes in Africa, Asia and Europe
Renaissance The rebirth of Greco-Roman culture in Italy due to its location in the Mediterranean Sea. It led to many cultural achievements
Printing Press This Renaissance invention produced books cheaply, helped spread ideas quickly and increased education
95 Theses This document included many arguments against practices of the Roman Catholic Church including the selling of indulgences
Martin Luther He was a German monk who wrote arguments against the Catholic Church and the sale of indulgences
Protestant Reformation This was the split between the Roman Catholic Church and the followers of Martin Luther that led to many new Christian churches that rejected the authority of the Pope
Absolute Monarch This a ruler with complete control over all parts of society, given by God which include Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Peter the Great, Philip II and Louis XIV
Columbia Exchange This was the global movement of plants, animals, and diseases that occurred as the Europeans migrated (moved) to the Americas
Cultural Diffusion This is the movement of people, goods and ideas by trade migration or war
God, Glory, Gold These were the reasons for European exploration of the seas and conquering of the Americas.
Mercantilism This was an economic policy that included using colonies to produce raw materials and sell manufactured goods to provide money for nation-states
