What happened at Mt. Sinai? What happened while Moses was gone and how did he react? God gave Moses the 10 commandments. They Israelites made a golden calf, and worshipped it as an idol, instead of God.
How did the Hebrews perceive the 10 Commandments? Why were they necessary? Followed the 10 commandments, respected them, provided them with peace and God wanted the best for them NOT BURDENS, wanted to be God’s people.
Can you give examples of false idols today? Celebrities, phones, popularity, and drugs.
The name Moses means: “mashah”- means “drew out.”

What is promised by both parties when the Sinai Covenant was made? What is the symbol of the Sinai Covenant? Promised by Moses/ Hebrews- follow God’s commands (sign of faithfulness to God). Promised by God- the Hebrew people will be God’s chosen people. 10 commandments, young bulls bring sacrifice.
