How did being on the coast help Aksum grow so powerful? It gave them access to to sea trade.
Who was the ruler at the time when Aksum was at its highest? Ezena, the strongest ruler of Aksum.
What did Ezena do while he was in power? Ezana conquered the part of the Arabian peninsula that is now Yemen, conquered the Kushites, and burned Meroƫ to the ground.
What happened as askum expanded and became more powerful? it attracted people from all over the ancient world.
What did merchants exchange besides raw materials and finished goods? Ideas and religions.
What did Ezena do about religion while he was in power? He converted Aksum to christianity.
What was the longest lasting achievement of aksum and why? The establishment of christianity in the area. Today, the land of Ethiopia, where Aksum was located, is home to millions of Christians
What was the new method of agriculture Aksum developed and why? They developed terrace farming which helped them adapt to the rugged and hilly environment,
What caused the fall of aksum? Islamic invaders conquering huge amounts of land and spreading islam.
