| Cartilage | smooth, rubbery, blue-white connective acts as a shock absorber between bones. |
| Articular cartilage | covers the surfaces of bones and come together to form joints. |
| The meniscus | curved fibrous cartilage |
| Joints | places of union between two or more bones. |
| Axial Skeleton | Protects the major organs of the nervous, respiratory, and circulatory systems. |
| Appendicular Skeleton | Makes body movement possible and also protects the organs. |
