Militarism Glorification of the military.
Nationalism A strong feeling of pride and devotion to one's country.
Triple Entante When France, Russia, and Britian signed a secret treaty.
Triple Alliance When Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary formed an allience with each other.
Convoy Group of merchants ships protected by warships
Propaganda Spreading of ideas to promote a cause or to damage an opposing cause.
Conscription "The draft" which required all young men to be ready for military or other service.
Submarine Warfare Submarine using torpedoes or other weapons to attack other submarines, ships, or land targets.
Trench Warfare A type of combat in which opposing troops fight from trenches facing each other.
League of Nations The first inter-government organization to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security.
