Tumor that arises from connective tissue and affects bone. Osteosarcoma
Disrupts replacement of old bone tissue w new bone tissue. Osteitis deformans. Paget's Disease
Spina Bifida Split spine; congenital defect in which part of membrane covering spinal cord protrudes through gap in spine.
Spinal tap; needle aspiration of spinal canal fluid in lumbar area. Lumbar Puncture
Pulling force to align dislocation. Traction
Drug relieves pain Analgesic
NSAID Relieves pain, counteracts inflammation, reduces fever.
Depression: Groove or furrow (very, very shallow). Sulcus
Bone that divides nose. Vomer
Red Bone Marrow Produces red & white blood cells + platelets in the cancellous bone.
Production of blood cells in bone marrow. Hematopoiesis
Paget's disease/ Osteitis deformans Disrupts replacement of old bone tissue with new bone tissue. Excessive breakdown of bone and abnormal, enlarged bone formation.
Sequestrum Lack of blood supply separates bone tissue from other healthy tissue, causing DEATH.
Congenital foot deformity involving talus. Talipes
Correcting bone deformity. Orthosis
Overgrowth of cartilage & bone at epiphyseal plate (non-cancerous). Ostechondroma
Lumar pain. Lumbago
Arthritis where uric acid builds up in blood. Gout
Fused bones cause stiff joints. Ankylosis
Ankylosing Spondylitis Rheumatoid arthritis of vertebra which becomes fused and stiff.
