Anatomy and Medical Terminology 1

PrefixMeaning
dolicho- long Ex: dolichouranic = having a long palate
lepto- thin Ex: leptoprosopia = narrowness of the face
lipo- fat lipoblast = an embryonic fat cell
macro- very large or long Ex: macrobiotic = long lived
mega- exceptionally large Ex: megalocyte = a large nonucleated red blood cell
micro- small Ex: microplenia = abnormally small spleen
