Pharisees Pious religious officials
Sadducees Rich, often worked with Rome for personal gain. Held different views from Paharisees
Essenes Thought complete ritual purity would bring the Messiah. Lived separately in the desert
Zealots Violent, Jewish rebels against Rome. "Moral police" within the Jews.
Sanhedrin Jewish ruling body- 71 men, headed by the High Priest
Jesus' emotions Showed varying emotions, not the tame person we portray him as
John the Baptist Last OT prophet, baptized Jesus, Nazarite, ate locusts and wild honey, possibly connected to the Essenes, connection to Elijah
Errors with Satan Giving him too much or not enough
Purpose of Jesus' baptism He is anointed- marks beginning of his ministry.

Are the Gospels accurate with history? Yes. Historical, non-religious sources prove the Bible's credibility.
Are our portrayals of Jesus in media accurate? Possibly, depending on the portrayal. Most are not very accurate at all.
Why was Jesus rejected in Nazareth? He said he would be a Messiah for everyone, not just Jews.
Are the Gospel's biased? Yes. They are trying to portray Jesus as the Messiah.
