Directional HBS Terms

TermDefinition
Anterior the front of the body
Posterior the back of the body
Inferior away from the head, lower on the body
Superior toward the head, higher on the body
Medial middle of the body
Lateral Away from the midline of the body
Distal Away from the point of attachment
Proximal Closer to the point of attachment
Superficial toward the surface of the body
Deep Away from the surface of the body
Ventral belly side
Dorsal The back side
