| Antacid | Prevents or relieves gastric distress |
| Anti-Anxiety (Benzodiazepines) | prevents or relieves anxiety |
| Anti-Arrhythmic (Heart rhythm regulators) | prevents or relieves irregular heartbeats |
| Anti-Asthmatic (Bronchodilator) | prevents or relieves respiratory distress |
| Antibiotic | Resolves infection |
| AntiCoagulant | prevents blood clotting |
| AntiConvulsant (Antiepileptics) | Prevents or controls seizures |
| Antidepressant | prevents or relieves symptoms of depression |
| Antidabetic | controls diabetes, decreases blood sugar |
| Antidiarrheal | controls diarrhea |
| Antiemetic | controls nausea and vomiting |
| Antifungal | resolves fungus infections |
| Antihistamine | relieves allergic symptoms |
| Antihypertensive | controls high blood pressure |
| Antiinflammatory | Decreases inflammation, swelling, pain. Could be NSAID or Steroid |
