| Eremitic Lifestyle | Living the life of a hermit with ties to a superior |
| Recollection | Gathering the senses together mindful of God within |
| Ignatian Meditation | Using the imagination to place yourself within the context of a scriptural passage |
| Mantra | A word or phrase repeated continuously to maintain recollection |
| Contemplation | Supernatural gift of infused consciousness of the absence or presence of God |
| Mystical | Adjective meaning hidden or secret |
| Angels | Purely spiritual beings that serve God and humans |
| Cenobitic Lifestyle | Religious life in community |
| Apophatic Spirituality | Emphasizes that God is always beyond what we can understand about Him |
| Dark Night | Inflow of God´s presence that heals and purifies the person |
