What was Teotihuacan? (13/6) Teotihuacan, also known as the City of Gods, arose in the Valley of Mexico. The city arose in this area in the first century A.D. This city had a population between 150,000-200,000 people.
What was the city the center of? (13/6) Teotihuacan was the center of a major trade network.
What was the most important trade item, and what was it used for? (13/6) The most important trade item was obsidian, obsidian was used to make sharp weapons.
Who were the Toltecs? (13/6) The Toltecs were the next people to dominate the Teotihuacan area. After the city was abandoned, the Toltecs took over and rose to power around 900 A.D.
What were some problems in the Aztec Empire? (13/6) the people that they conquered rebelled against being sacrificed. During this rebellion and conflict between the Aztecs and the people that they conquered was occurring. The Spanish arrived and conquered the Aztecs.
Where did the Inca live? (13/7) The Inca civilization developed in the Andes Mountains of South America. The Inca first settled in the Valley of Cuzco, in modern Peru. A kingdom was built in this area by the 1200’s AD.
What environment did the Inca live in? (13/7) The Inca lived in a difficult environment and dealt with harsh physical conditions such as warm weather, earthquakes,traveled long distances to communicate and trade, and the region was difficult to farm.
What type of public works did the Inca have? (13/7) The Inca built a complex network of roads. The roads linked all parts of the empire.The Inca also built all government buildings in the same style.
What was the common language in the Inca Empire? (13/7) In the Inca empire the common language was called Quechua.
