TermDefinition
Credit What a student earns for completing/ passing a class. Students Receive 1 credit for a course that lasts all year 1/2 credit for semester long class.
Course Another word for class
Diploma certificate that represents completion of a program of study
Elective A course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested
Graduation requirements Standards that must be met in order to graduate
Advanced placement classes Accelerated and more challenging classes
Freshman 9th grade year
Sophomore 10th grade year
Junior 11th grade year
Senior 12th grade year
Prerequisite A course that is required before another course can be taken
Smart core Arkansas's college and career ready curriculum for high school
GPA Grading system that represents that average your grades determine how well your performed in all your classes
