What caused the Assyrians to develop a strong army and large empire? : lack of natural barriers to prevent invasions therefore they needed strong army to defeat themselves, constant warfare produced

What did King Senncherib brag? Conquered 89 cities and 820 villages and burned down Babylon
Why do you think the Assyrian kings had an interest for reading and writing? BC they may have envisioned the writing of their history as a way to impress future generations with their military achievements
Reasons for fall of empire - Assyrian power was spread out too thin (“bit off more than they could chew”) o They had large empire but it wasn’t very built up and didn’t have a strong base
