| Trench Warfare | soldiers fight each other from trenches, armies traded large losses of life for very small gains in land. |
| Eastern Front | Land fought over between Germany-Austria Hungry and Russia. Much more mobile fight than that of Western Front |

| Rationing | the efforts of citizens to save or reduce the consumption or use of a particular item in an effort to help with the war |
| Propaganda | one-sided information designed to persuade the citizens. Used to keep up morale or get more people to support the war effort. |
| Armistice | an agreement to stop fighting. WWl armistice was signed on november 11, 1918 at 11 am. We call this Veterans day. |
