Terms and Abbreviations

TermDefinition
Chronic Has been going on for a while now.
Noncontributory Not related to the specific problem.
ECU stands for what? Emergency Care Unit
PACU stands for what? Post-Anesthesia Care Unit
Palliative Treating the symptoms, but not getting rid of the cause.
Sterile Extremely clean, germ free.
Prone Lying down on belly.
Localized Stays in a certain area of the body.
Idiopathic No know specific cause; just happens.
Pathogen Organism that causes problem.
