| Bleeding Time (BT) Test | Measures length of time required for bleeding to stop after cut |
| Bilirubin, Uric Acid, Phosphorus, and Potassium (BURPP) | Group of tests, don't use povidone-iodine for dermal puncture |
| Calcaneus | Heel bone |
| Capillary Tubes | A tube of small internal diameter; holds liquid by capillary action |
| Caraway or Natelson Pipets | Large plastic/glass capillary tubes, used mainly for ABG samples |
| Iatrogenic Anermia | One possible complication for deep venipuncture |
| Microcollection Containers | Replacing microhematocrit tubes |
| Microcollection Tubes | Also called bullets, holds 750 microliters of blood |
| Microhematocrit Tubes | Small plastic or glass tubes, holds 75 microliters |
| Osteochondritis | Inflammation of the bone/cartilage, possible from bone puncture |
| Osteomyelitis | Potentially serious, sometimes fatal, bone infection |
| Venous Thrombosis | Venipuncture may not be used |
