Definitions

Evisceration of eye Removal of contents of eyeball; remaining structures intact
Enucleation Removal of eyeball only, other structure intact
Exenteration Removal of eye, adnexa, and bony structure
Anterior Segment of Eye cornea, anterior chamber, anterior sclera, iris, ciliary body and lens
kertoplasty repair of the cornea
lamellar keratoplasty only a thin layer of the cornea is removed and then replaced with donor cornea
penetrating keratoplasty removal of full thickness of cornea and replaced with donor cornea.
aphakia absence of the lens of the eye
pseudophakia presence of an artificial lens after cataract surgery.
