| Society of United Irishmen | Organisation with founding members such as Wolfe Tone, Henry Joy McCracken and William Drennan |
| Catholic Committee | A group formed by wealthy Catholics to push for reforms. |
| William Jackson | A French spy who had met with Wolfe Tone was arrested by the British |
| General Hoche | Led a French fleet of 43 ships and 15000 men to Ireland but bad weather meant they had to turn back |
| Wolfe Tone | Irish revolutionary figure who sought to overthrow English rule in Ireland. "Father of Irish Republicanism" |
