Why did leaders in Early Middle Ages and the High Middle Ages convert to Christianity? Leaders like Clovis, Charlemagne, and Prince Vladimir of Russia converted to receive more financial backing from the church and to acquire more power and land. Otto of Saxony shows this power when the the Pope crowned him Holy Roman Emperor.
Name all the African kingdoms during the time period of 1000 C.E. to around 1400 C.E. and what they were known for. Ghana Empire: Gold and Trans Saharan Trade with salt, slaves etc...Mali Empire: Same items traded with leaders such as Sundiata/Mansa Musa. Kingdom of Axum & Christianity. What are some important inventions for the High Middle Ages in Europe? Mostly agricultural inventions like crop rotation, manure, bean cultivation. Also horse shoes, horse collars and the heavy plow. Water mills for energy. Fish hatcheries. Lots of urbanization going on and creation of strong cities today like London & Paris
Explain the Indian Ocean Basin Trade System Monsoon Winds are critical. Muslims and Indians traded many goods like spices, cotton, textiles etc....Religions spread such as Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism. Dhows and Junks were used to trade items. Major port cities emerge (Calicut) Irrigation
