Ellipsis | a mark or series of marks used in writing or printing to indicate an omission, especially of letter or words |
Epiglottitis | a life threatening condition that occurs when the small cartilage "Lid" that covers your windpipe swells and blocks the air flow into your lungs |
Fissure | an ulcer /split /crack /or tear in the tissue |
Genogram | A graph of family health history |
Gonads | The sex glands /The ovaries in the female and the testicles in the male |
Histology | The study of cells |
Infrared | pertaining to those invisible rays just beyond the red end of the visible spectrum that have a penetrating heating effect |
Limbs | refers to the arms and legs |
Melanin | a pigment that give color to the skin, hair, and eyes |
Multiple-gated acquisition scan (MUGA) | a diagnostic test to evaluate the condition of the myocardium of the heart |
Optic disc | The blind spot where the optic nerve exits from the retina of the eye |
Peripheral | pertaining to the portion of the nervous system /anything you plug into a computer /side vision while looking straight forward |
Polyp | a tumor with a pedicle, especially on the mucous membranes, such as in the nose, rectum, or intestines |
prostatectomy | excision of part or all of the prostate gland |
reproductive | concerning reproduction |
semilunar | the valves of the heart located between the ventricles and the pulmonary artery and aorta |
stress | to put pressure on /emphasize /urgency /tension /strained extension |
teleconferencing | a means if exchanging information much like a conference call, except everyone can see and hear each other at the same time /all are linked by way of telecommunication equipment |
transducer | a device that transforms power from one system to another in the same or different form |
Ulcer | an open lesion on the skin or mucous membrane of the body characterized by loss of tissue and the formation of a secretion |
