Diaphysis Shaft or central part of a long bone
Metaphysis The wide portions of long bones ( towards each end)
Medullary cavity Central cavity in a long bone, contains the red or yellow bone marrow
Foramen A hole in the bone where the blood vessels pass
Axial skeleton Composed of the bones on the axis/midline
Atlas First vertebrae in the cervical vertebrae (C1)
Axis Second vertebrae in the cervical vertebrae (C2)
Appendicular Skeleton Composed of bones and limbs
Thoracic limb Forelimb
Pelvic limb Hindlimb
Pneumatic bones Bone this partly hallow/air pockets
Visceral skeleton well developed bone in the penis, all tissue
3 Classifications if joints Fibrous, Cartilaginous, Synovial
Patella Largest sesamoid bone
