What is acute? It just started recently or is a sharp, severe pain
What is chronic? It has been going on for a while now.
What is exacerbation? It is getting worse
What is abrupt? All of the sudden
What is febrile? To have a fever
What is afebrile? Not to have a fever
What is malaise? Not feeling well
What is progressive? More and more each day
What is symptom? Something the patient feels
What is noncontributory? Not related to the specific problem
