Skilled Nursing facility (SNF) nursing & rehabilitation on 24-hr basis
Intermediate nursing care facility (INCF) personal care, social services, nursing for those who DO NOT need 24-hr care

complementary medicine used together with "conventional" or "traditional" medicine techniques. Ex. Using meditation along with prescription medication
CAM complementary & alternative medicine
alternative medicine practices used instead of "traditional" or "conventional" medicine
Medicaid program funded by federal & state government for individuals below certain income levels
Naturopathy & Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) combine traditional & natural remedies. Focus on diet, exercise, lifestyle, & natural therapies.
Osteopathy & Osteopathic Doctors (MDs) Includes chiropractic, nutrition, environmental conditions emphasis. Training & testing requirements similar to "traditional" MDs with same ability to prescribe, perform surgery, etc.
Wellness center provide routine & preventative services such as immunizations, education on nutrition, physical exams, etc.
Diagnostic center provide procedures such as radiography x-rays to determine cause of disease & injury
Rehabilitation center therapies to help patients regain maximum physical & mental function. Some focus on overcoming substance abuse
Surgical center Outpatient surgeries that do not require hospitalization. Also called same-day or ambulatory surgery. Ex. cataract surgery, muscle, tendon, or small joint repair
Emergency & Urgent care center Care for conditions that need immediate attention
Laboraties Draw blood, collect urine, make dental crowns, etc.
Assisted living residence housing, meals, personal care for those who need help with daily activities but do not need daily regular nursing care
