perimortem around or near death
postmortem how long has been since death:
simple fracture broken into two segments
comminuted fracture break result of multiple segments
nfraction part of the fraction area still attached to bone at unnatural angle
pathological fracture breaks that are in bones weakened by disease
Stress fractures breaks come from overuse
tension force pulls the bone, usually along long axis.
compression force pushed down on bone
torsion wisting corse, one bone is usually stationary, other end trauma
bending impacts side of structure at aproxx. right angles to long axis adults
Shearing immobilized segment of bone , force applied to the side
