Aroma | an odor arising from spices |
aromatherapy | is used of plant-derived essential oils for therapeutic purposes |
Aromatic | having an aroma; fragrant or sweet-smelling |
Aromaticity | the quality or state of being aromatic |
Baths | For an immersion bath |
Blend | a combination of essential oils in a base or carrier oil |
Carrier oil | A neutral oil used to dilute an essential oil. |
CO2 Extraction | produces CO2 extracts |
Compress | Add 2 to 5 drops of essential oil to a small dish of water. Drench a washcloth in scented water. Wring out excess water and apply to the client's skin |
Core Oil | oil that addresses the primary purpose or goal of the treatment |
Diffusion | A diffuser is used to disperse essential oils into the air. Add 10 to 15 drops of essential oils to a diffuser. Add more drops as needed |
Distillation | produces essential oils and hydrosols |
Enhancer | strengthens the core oil in its purpose and therapeutic action |
