What is Medicaid? Free or low-cost health insurance coverage through the state designed for low-income, blind, or disabled patients; needy families, foster children; and children born with birth defects.
Medicaid is called the _____________. Payer of last resort.
What is Categorically Needy Medicaid? Insurance for those who receive Parent/Caretaker Relatives Medicaid, receive SSI payments, adults between age 19-64, are pregnant, children, and blind or disabled persons whose income eligibility is based on the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
What is Medically Needy Medicaid? Insurance for those eligible for Categorically Needy Medicaid except their income and/or assets are too high. However, even though their resources are too high for Categorically Needy Medicaid eligibility, they cannot afford to pay their medical bills.
