| Mandate of Heaven | the authority to rule of China's early emperors; given from the gods |
| Great Wall | A barrier of walls across China’s northern frontier. |
| ancestor | a person that someone is descended from. |
| Terracotta army | Emperor Qin had built to protect and serve him in the afterlife. |
| aristocrat | upper class citizen who holds wealth and power. |
