| Cell Membrane | Controls what enters and leaves the cell. |
| Cytoplasm | Gelatin-like substance in which all life processes take place. |
| Protoplasm | Consists of the cytoplasm and all interior organelles. |
| Eukaryote | A cell that has membrane-bound organelles. |
| Mitochondria | Sight of cellular respiration. Where energy is released from sugar. |
| Chloroplast | In plant cells, the organelle which uses sunlight to create sugar. |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) | Folded membranes in which materials are processed and moved within the cell. |
| Golgi | A system of membranes responsible for packaging substances into vessicles for use inside or outside the cell. |
