History of N/S Korea, SE Asia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore

QuestionAnswer
What is the economy of S Korea? US helped South; Soviet helped North. South had low pay, long hrs that helped keep costs low for autos, electronics. This turned to better pay 30 years later for everyone: better lives. And democracy.
What is the economy of N Korea: Clung to communism. Slow growth. Floods, famine. State owns most stuff.
What impact did the Cold War Have on Korea? Soviet helped N; US helped S. After the cold war, N held on to communism and didn't change.
Where is Korea It is SE of China between China and Japan. N Korea borders China.
Who was Ho Chi Minh? He was a communist who led the fight against French in Vietnam; the French left. After Vietnam split (supposed to be temporary), Ho wanted to unite under N rule.
How did the Cold War affect Vietnam? The struggle over Vietnam included Soviet and China aid to N and US to South.
