1928: Emergency measures | Ration introduced in cities, requisitioning introduced. |
1929: Dekulakisation | Compulsory collectivisation introduced. Kulaks rounded up and exiled by the Red Army and the secret police. 25K volunteers sent into the countryside to assist with this. |
1930: 'Dizzy with success' | Stalin halted compulsory collectivisation, blaming the chaos in the countryside on the party members being 'dizzy with success'. Farmers returned to their own farms. |
1931: Collectivisation restarts | Forced collectivisation began again, at a slower pace |
1941: Collectivisation complete | All farms in Russia were collectivised. |
