Unit 14, Samson

TermDefinition
Samson's problem was that he rebelled against God's will
A vow is a solemn promise or pledge
The omnipotence of God is seen in Samson's birth because his mother had not been able to have children
Sometimes God calls people to begin a task that others will finish
A Nazirite is a person who was set apart for God's special purposes
The Angel told Samson's parents that he would begin to free the Israelites from Philistine rule
When the Spirit of God came mightily on Samson he would gain enormous strength
When Samson was captured by the Philistines, they blinded him and bound him with chains
Samson could be described as a very strong, yet a very spiritually weak man
How did God judge the Philistines at Samson's death? The Philistine leaders were killed, and Dagon's temple was destroyed.
How did Samson help cause his own death? He told Delilah his weakness
Poor choices can limit the release of God's power in a person's life
There will always be consequences for a person's actions
One way that Samson did not cooperate with the Spirit of God was he ate honey from the body of a dead lion and allowed himself to fall in love with Delilah
