| Covenant | A sacred verbal agreement that bestows rights and requires obligations. |
| Creation | 1. The divine act by which the world was brought into existence. 2. The world and everything in it. |
| Eucharist | The sacrament by which believers share in the Paschal mystery of Christ's death and resurrection by receiving his Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine. |
| Exodus | The second book in the Old testament that tells the story of the escape of the Israelite people from slavery in Egypt under the leadership of Moses. |
| Harmony | Order and congruity of parts with one another and with the whole. |
| Messiah | 'The Anointed One'. One filled with the Spirit of God who would deliver his people and establish God's reign in the world. |
| New Testament | Twenty-Seven books of the Bible that relate the experiences of God through Jesus and the early Church. |
| Old Testament | Forty-six books, all relating experiences of God by the people of Israel before the coming of Jesus. |
| Passover | A Jewish feast celebrating God's action of saving his people from slavery and death in Egypt. |
