What is a citizen? Members of a city-state who had legal rights.
What are politics? The government of a city-state.
What is aristocracy? A hereditary class of rulers.
What is slavery? The ownership and control of other people as property.
What is tyranny? Governments run by a strong ruler,
What is a democracy? A government ran by the people.
What's citizenship? Membership in a community.
What is a direct democracy? A political system in which citizens will participate directly in the decision making.
What is a representative democracy? When citizens elect others to represent them in government.
What is a helot? Helots belonged not to individual Spartans but to polis as a whole.
What is a military state? A society organized for the purpose of waging war.
What are barracks? Military housing.
What is the battle of Marathon? The unexpected Greek victory which ended the first Persian war.
What is the battle of Salamis? The second defeat Greek had.
What is the Delian League? The alliance between Athens and the Delos.
What is the Peloponnesian League? The Spartans alliance on the Peloponnesian League?
What is Alexandria? A city on the edge of the Nile Delta?
What is the Hellenistic culture? A greek-like culture.
What is a polytheistic religion? The belief of several different Gods.
What is mythology? Stories or myths told about Gods or heroes.
What are the olympic games? An athletic event which was made to honor Zeus.
What's the socratic method? The question and answer method of teaching.
What's a hypothesis? Logical guesses made based on information you had known beforehand.
What is a Hippocratic oath? An oath that medical students must use their knowledge in only ethical ways.
