What is a City- State? Is a independent state that includes a city and it's surrounding territory

What is an Empire? A state containing several countries or territories
What is an Ally? An ally is an independent state that works with other states to achieve a shared or political goal
What is a Cultural Trait? Is a shared idea or way of doing something common in a certain way
What was Hammurabi's code? A set of laws that governed life in the Babylonia empire
What is the rule of laws? An idea that all members of a society must follow
Who are the Calvary? Soldiers who fought while riding horses
What is a Standing Army? A permanent army of professional soldiers
What did a tribute do? It was a payment made to show loyalty to a strong power
What is currency? Is money that is used as a medium of exchange, usually bills or coins
What is a stele? A carved stone slab or pillar that stands on end
What is import? A good or service sold within a country that is produced i another country
What is export? A good or service produced within a country and sold outside the country's borders
What is navigation? The art of steering a ship from place to place
What is a colony? An area ruled by a distant country
What is a cultural diffusion The spreading of cultural traits from one region to another
What is an alphabet? a set of letters or symbols, which each stand for a single sound
What is a Ziggurat? Pyramid-shaped towers
