What is latitude? lines of latitude runs east and west around the world.
What is a different name for latitude? parallels.
What are longitude? lines of longitude are all same size and are not parallel.
What is meridian? Meridian is 0' longitude, and all other longitude lines are numbered up to 180'.
What is the used of the global grid? this allows any location on earth to be identified by an or nearly exact location.
What is the tropic of cancer? In the Northern Hemisphere , at about latitude 23'N is the tropic of cancer.
What is Tropic of Capricorn? This marks the place farthest north at which the sun ever shines directly overhead.
What is tropical zone? The section of earth between the tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn is know as the tropical zone.
What is torrid zone? A another name for tropical zone.
What is arctic circle? in the north hemisphere, north of 66.5'N latitude , the sun rise on at least on day in our winter and does not set on at least on day in summer.
What is temperate zone? The parts of earth between arctic circle and the tropic of Capricorn are know as the temperature.
What is frigid zone the zones north of the arctic circle and south of Antarctic circle are know as frigid zones.
What is polar region? is a other name for frigid zone.
What is the axis? Earth's axis is an imaginary line between the north pole and south pole.
