What are lines of latitude? Lines that run east and west around earth
What is a global grid? latitude and longitude form a pattern of crossed lines
What are lines of longitude? lines that run north and south around earth
Where is the tropic of cancer? Northern Hemisphere at about latitude 23 degrees North
What is the tropical Capricorn? South of the equator at about 23 degrees South
What is the tropical zone? The section between the tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn
What is the Torrid? The section between the tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn
What is the arctic circle? In the Northern hemisphere 66.5 degrees N sun does not rise on at least one day in our winter and does not set on at least one day in our summer
What is the antarctic circle? In the Southern hemisphere 66.5 degrees S the sun does not rise on at least one day in our winter and does not set an at on at least one day in our summer
What are temperate zones? Parts of earth between the arctic circle and the tropic of cancer and between the antarctic circle and the tropic of Capricorn
What are frigid zones? The zones north of the arctic circle and south of the antarctic circle
What are polar regions? The zones north of the arctic circle and south of the antarctic circle
What are axis? an imaginary line between the north and the south pole
What are parallels? lines of latitude
What are meridians? lines of longitude
