Archaeologist A scientist who examies bones,tools,structures,and other objects to learn about past peoples.
Smithsonian Institution An educational and research institute and associated museum complex, administered and funded by the government of the United States
N.A.G.P.R.A (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) A United States federal law passed on 16 November 1990 requiring federal agencies and institutions that receive federal funding[1] to return Native American cultural items and human remains to their respective peoples.
Caucasion The term Caucasian race (also Caucasoid) has been used to denote the general physical type of some or all of the indigenous populations of Europe, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, West Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia.
Migration To relocate,to move from one place to settle in another area.
Nomad A person who has no single, settled home.
Domesticate To tame animals and raise them for human use.
Fertile Land or soil that contains substances plants need in order to grow well.
Atlatl A tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in dart-throwing, and includes a bearing surface which allows the user to temporarily store energy during the throw.
Prehistory Before history;the events in the period of time before writing was invented.
History The written and other recorded events of people.
Oral Tradition Stories passed down through generations by word of mouth.
Neolithic Age The later part of the Stone Age during which people began to grow their own foods and lived in the same place year after year.
Forensics The application of a broad spectrum of sciences to answer questions of interest to a legal system.
Radio Carbon Dating A radiometric dating method that uses the naturally occurring radioisotope carbon-14 (14C) to determine the age of carbonaceous materials up to about 60,000 years.[
Clovis A prehistoric Paleoindian culture that first appears in the archaeological record of North America around 11,500 years ago, at the end of the last glacial period. characterized by a particular tool kit adapted to the hunting of large mammals.
Genetic Drift The change in the relative frequency with which a gene variant occurs in a population due to random sampling and chance.
Morphology The form, structure and configuration of an organism.
