QuestionAnswer
Who is Copernicus? He challenged circular orbits. Figured out that the universe is a staggering size, also earth is no different from any other planet
Who is Johannes Kepler? He said that PLanetary motion confirms to mathematical formula. Stated that planetsdo not move at uniform speedsin their orbits.
Who is Galileo Galilei? He created the mathematical formula for acceleration of falling objects, the law of inertia.
Who is Isaac Newton? He explained the laws of gravity and argues for a universe that is governed by natural law.
Who is Francis Bacon? He created the inductive method. He had emphasis on practical, useful knowledge.
Who is Rene Descartes? He created the deductive method. He said that spatial relationships can be expressed in mathematical formulas.
What is the cause of the Scientific Revolution? People in history needed learned about things around them and how they work.
How did the reniassance encourage the Scientific Revolution? Needed to know time. Reniassance needed the system of patrpnage.
What is Deism? Deism is the belief that a god created all of things but doesnt really exist.
What were the consenquences of the Scientific Revolution? laws were discovered by human reason. There were mechanical views of the universe. Plus there was a deistic view of god.
What is the Royal Society of London? It was an elite group of people who gather together and study the laws of science it was founded in 1660.
What was the Chruch's view of Universe vs. Scientific Revolution's view? According to Church the center of the universe is Earth and that there is nothing really too
What is the Scientific Method? The scientific method is a method used for solving scientific problems.
What is Printing Press? The printing press was a machine that would press and copy in onto paper or cloth.
