What would they use the levees for? they would build the levees even higher and then poke holes in them when the land became dry.

What was one of the great cities of Sumer? Ur, the Sumerians were city-builders of this area.

Near the center of the city lived the upper class, then the middle class were behind the wealthy. The middle class was made up of what? government officials, shop keepers, and artisans
