| Pathogen | bacteria, virus, or microorganisms that make you sick |
| aseptic/antiseptic | clean, not dirty or contaminated |
| sterile | removes all microorganisms including spores |
| PPE | Personal Protective equipment; mask, gown, gloves, safety goggles, steel toe boots, hard hat |
| bacteria | one celled tiny living things that you can only see with a microscope with no nucleus (brain) sometimes cause sickness |
| virus | microorganism(tiny living thing) that must live in a human or animal that copies itself and destroys the cell information |
| CDC | Center for Disease control, ( federal agency) promotes public health |
| OSHA | Occupational Safety and Health Administration, prevent work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths. |
| Dermatitits | swollen, irritated, or chapped skin |
| Microorganisms | tiny living things that can only be seen with a microscope |
| Antimicrobial | kills microorganisms or stops their growth |
| Transient flora | short term or passing bacteria on the skin by direct hand to hand touching |
| Emollient | quality of softening or soothing the skin |
| Venipuncture | puncture of a vein , creating a hole in a vein with a needle |
