Write your answer in paragraph form. Student response requirement: The student should explain that they are similar because citizens are allowed to vote for their leaders. However, in a presidential democracy a leader is directly elected by the citizens and holds office for a set amount of time. The executive branch is separate from the legislative branch. In a parliamentary democracy, citizens vote for members of parliament, who then chose the prime minister who holds office as long as the constitution allows.
