What is prehistory? the time before there was written language
What is a hominid? an early ancestor of humans
What is an ancestor? a relative who lived in the past
What is a tool? an object that has been modified to help a person accomplish a task
What is Paleolithic Era? the first part of the Stone Age, when people first used stone tools
What is a society? a community of people who share a common culture
What is a hunter-gatherers? people who hunt animals and gather wild plants, seeds, fruits and nuts to survive
What is migrate? to move to a new place
What is ice ages? long period of freezing weather
What is land bridge? a strip of land connecting two continents
What is the Mesolithic Era? the middle part of the stone age, marked by the creation of smaller complex tools
What is the Neolithic Era? the New Stone Age when people learned to make fore and tools such as saws and drills
What is domestication? the process of changing plants or animals to make them more useful to humans
What is agriculture? farming
What is megaliths? a huge stone monument
