How did Count Camilo de Cavour help Italian unification? United North Italy by allying with France during Franco-Austrian war and Prussia in the Franco-Prussian war.
What war brought the Papal States into “Italy”? Franco-Prussian war
Why were the Papal States the last to unify with “Italy”? The Papal states was ruled by the Pope and had many foreign protections making it hard to unify.
What was the “Risorgimento”? The Italian unification. Means the "Resurgence," called this because of Italian nationalistic want of a resurgence
Who was Otto von Bismarck? Bismark was the person who led the final push for German unification by starting the Franco-Prussian war.
What is “realpolitik”? A political system that values efficiency and practicality rather than morals

Who were the peninsulares? The peninsulares were native born Spanish who came into the Americas
Who were the creoles and why did they rebel? The creoles were children of peninsulares, native born Spanish. They rebelled because they were not given roles of power
Who is the father of Haitian Independence? Toussaint L'Ouverture
What was unique about the Haitian Revolution? It was the first revolution to have been led by slaves
What was the purpose of the Monroe Doctrine? To protect the Americas from European powers trying to invade
