hematocrit the ratio of the volume occupied by packed red blood cells to the volume of the whole blood as measured by a hematocrit
septicemia invasion of the bloodstream by virulent microorganisms from a focus of infection
capillary tube a tube of small internal diameter; holds liquid by capillary action
packed cell volume the ratio of the volume occupied by packed red blood cells to the volume of the whole blood as measured by a hematocrit
