| Diabetes Mellitus | Group of disorders characterized by chronic elevated blood glucose levels caused by too little insulin, resistance to insulin by the cells, or both. |
| Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus | Type one Diabetes. Characterized by damaged or destroyed pancreatic beta-cells, creating a lack of insulin. |
| Type 2 Diabetes | The most common type of diabetes Mellitus, with most cases related to central obesity and sedentary lifestyle. |
| Diabetes Insipidus | Insufficient production of ADH (antidiuretic hormone) caused by either posterior pituitary dysfunction or renal resistance to ADH. |
| Gestational Diabetes | A form of diabetes that develops in some women during pregnancy. |
| Goiter | Enlargement of the thyroid gland. |
| Hypothyroidism | General term used to describe thyroid hormone deficiency. |
| Graveâs Disease | Autoimmune disease characterized by hyperthyroidism that causes various symptoms such as anxiety, hand tremors, weight loss, brittle or loss of hair, and unusual protrusion of the eyeballs. |
| MyXedema | Severe hypothyroidism diagnosed in adulthood and marked by fatigue, weight gain, and distinctive facial changes such as a bulbous nose and swollen lips. |
| Hyperparathyroidism | General term used to describe overproduction of PTH (parathyroid hormone) |
| Hypoparathyroidism | General term used to describe underproduction of PTH (parathyroid hormone) |
| Hyperpituitarism | General term used to describe the overproduction of pituitary hormones. Namely ATCH and GH, causing overstimulation Of target endocrine glands. |
| Hypopituitarism | General term used to describe a decrease in the production of pituitary hormones, causing a lack of stimulation of target endocrine glands. |
| Acromegaly | Condition that results from the overproduction of GH (growth hormone) during adult years. Causing bones to become heavier and thicker and the rib cage to elongate. |
| Hypercalcemia | Term used to describe elevated calcium levels in the blood. |
| Addison Disease | Also called Hypocortisolism, the disease that is caused by failure of adrenal functions. |
| Hyperglycemia | Term used to describe high blood sugar |
| Hypoglycemia | Term used to describe low blood sugar |
| Cushing syndrome | Disease characterized by excessive amounts of cortisol in the blood. |
| Cushing disease | Disease characterized by overproduction of ACTH of the pituitary, which leads to excessive amounts of cortisol in the blood. (Hypocortisolism) |
