Allergen Substance that produces allergic reactions.
Pitting edema More common in lymphedema, term used to describe a pit or dent left in the skin once compressed for a few seconds and then released.
Edema Abnormal accumulation of fluids from a sluggish or overloaded lymph transport system.
HIV Human Immunodeficiency Virus Virus associated with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
AngioEdema Type of Edema seen in allergic reactions involving the deeper tissues of the skin.
LymphEdema Abnormal accumulation of fluids caused by obstruction of lymph flow.
Lymphadenopathy Term used to describe enlarged lymph nodes.
Dependent Edema Type of peripheral Edema found in gravity-dependent Areas of the lower extremities.
Hypersensitivity Reaction Phrase commonly used to denote an allergy. The types of which are i,ii,iii,iv
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Syndrome characterized by prolonged and severe tiredness and disabling fatigue.
Acquired Immunodeficiency Infectious viral disease causing progressive impairment of the immune system.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Most common form of lupus.
Drug-induced Lupus Type of Lupus triggered by some anti-hypersensitive and anti-arrhythmic medications and resolves after the medication is withdrawn.
Lymphangitis Infection and inflammation of lymphatic vessels, most often from bacterial infection.
Lymphadenitis Term used to denote infection in lymph nodes.
Allergy Condition of altered immunologic responses to otherwise harmless substances.
Discoid Lupus Erythmatosus Type of Lupus that affects only the skin.
Anaphylaxis Life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity that may lead to anaphylactic shock.
Kaposi Sarcoma Aggressive malignancy of the blood vessels that appears as purple or blue patches, often on the skin, seen in some individuals with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
Butterfly or Malar Rash Terms used to describe a rash that develops on the face, spreading from one cheek, across the nose, onto the other cheek seen in persons with Lupus.
