Asian Empires

| Maritime routes | a major water-based trade route that connected Asia, India, the South Pacific islands, the Middle East and East Africa through the Indian Ocean |
| Trans-Saharan routes | a land-based trade route that connected African Empires from North, West and East Africa. |
| Southeast Asia routes | a water-based trade route that connected Asian countries through the South China Sea. |

| Shintoism | the national Japanese religion based on nature and ancestor worship that coexisted with Buddhism |
| coexistence | to live peacefully/ in harmony with despite being different |
| Mongols | an Asian tribe of nomadic herders who became an empire after invading Russia, China and Muslim states in Southwest Asia |
| Genghis Khan | the leader of Mongols that advanced his tribe into an Empire through conquest. |
| Golden Horde | a Mongol group that overran eastern Europe during the 13th century. This group lead to the beginning of Russian Empire |
