Patrician The Roman upper class-landlords, senators.
Livy A famous Roman historian
Scipio A young general who defeated Hannibal at Zama
Hannibal A Carthaginian military genius who was finally defeated by a Scipio at Zama
Consul The head of the Roman goverment
Zama Where Hannibal was defeated by Scipio
Gladiator Warriors who fought animals and each other for entertainment
Aqueduct A waterway
Civil War A war between two groups in the same country
Pax Romana A 200-year time period where Rome was doing great in trade. Pax Romana means (in Latin) "Roman peace".
Gaul Modern-day France
Julius Caesar A patrician who was a Senate leader and a commander of the army. He was murdered coming to the senate in 44 B.C
Augustus Julius Caesar's adopted son. A.K.A Octavion
Cleopatra A young Egyptian ruler who helped Caesar during his civil war because he helped her
Colosseum Where games and chariot races were held
Dictator Someone with absolute power
Pompeii A city that was buried under volcanic ash
Carthage Rome's enemy
Sicily A island near Italy which looks like it's being "kicked by the boot"
Italy A boot shaped country

Tribune A person who upholds or defends the rights of the people
Punic Wars The three wars between Carthage and Rome
