Chain of infection

Chain of Infection Six factors that must be present for the spread of infection
2. Infectious agent Any disease causing microorganisms (Pathogens)
Reservoir The organism in which the infectious microbes reside
Portal of Exit The route of escape of the pathogens from the resevoir
Mode of Transmission Method by which the pathogen gets from the reservoir to the new host
Portal of Entry route through which the pathogen enters its new host
Susceptible Host Its when the host accepts the pathogens
Carrier Hosts that do not shoe any outward signs or symptoms of a disease but are still capable of transmitting the disease are known as carriers
Medical Asepsis Clean technique decrease in medical pathogens
Surgical Asepsis
Nosocomial Infection= Hospital Acquired Infection
